The Hunting Wives Season 2 Soundtrack

Adapted from author May Cobb's bestselling novel by creator and showrunner Rebecca Perry Cutter (Hightown), The Hunting Wives quickly established itself as one of the most talked-about drama series on Netflix. The show immerses viewers into the stifling heat and ruthless social decorum of East Texas, where wealth, infidelity, and loaded rifles collide. After the explosive climax of the debut season, Season 2 picks up the pieces of Sophie O'Neil's (Brittany Snow) fractured life. Ostracized by the conservative town establishment and struggling to keep her marriage to Graham (Evan Jonigkeit) from unraveling, Sophie finds herself once again entangled in the orbit of Margo Banks (Malina Åkerman), whose ruthless charisma is now leveraged to propel husband Jed Banks (Dermot Mulroney) toward the Texas governor's mansion.

The second season expands its ensemble cast with notable newcomers, including John Stamos stepping into the role of Chase Brylan, alongside seasoned performers Dale Dickey, Cam Gigandet, Kim Matula, and Alex FitzAlan. As local law enforcement continues investigating unresolved crimes and whispers of a local reality-show crew stir up town rivalries, the tension between domestic perfection and primal danger reaches a boiling point.

Musically, The Hunting Wives relies on a masterclass collaboration between composer Jeff Danna and acclaimed music supervisor Kier Lehman. Danna, celebrated for his versatile film and television scores spanning psychological thrillers to sweeping character dramas, provides original instrumental motifs rooted in Southern gothic dread, twangy guitars, and simmering suspense. Complementing the score, music supervisor Kier Lehman—renowned for shaping the era-defining needle drops in Insecure and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse—curates a sharp selection of country classics, indie blues, and smoldering female-fronted anthems that mirror the protagonists' dangerous impulses.

Setting the tone for the promotional rollout, the official Season 2 teaser trailer features Nancy Sinatra's iconic 1966 recording of "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)." Driven by Billy Strange's tremolo-heavy electric guitar and Sinatra's melancholic, deliberate vocal delivery, the track perfectly captures the lethal, seductive atmosphere of the East Texas woods.
