About the Soundtrack

The musical world of Apple Original Films' Being Heumann reflects the urgency, resilience, and spirit of civil rights icon Judy Heumann. Directed by Academy Award winner Sian Heder (CODA), the biographical drama features a deeply moving original score composed by Francesco Le Metre alongside expert music supervision by veteran Linda Cohen (Marriage Story, The Power of the Dog).

The film captures the monumental 1977 San Francisco sit-in where Heumann and more than 100 disability rights activists occupied a federal building, demanding the signing of Section 504 regulations. To mirror this historic defiance, the official trailer is anchored by The Monkees' defiant 1966 garage-rock anthem "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone", setting an electric, uncompromising tone for Judy's fight against institutional discrimination.
