Created by and starring BAFTA winner Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe, Bad Sisters), Youth brings a sharp, unapologetic perspective on midlife reinvention to HBO. Set in London, the comedy-drama follows Alex, a fifty-year-old literary agent navigating the messy fallout of a recent divorce while juggling awkward romantic entanglements, a wayward teenage son, and demanding clients.

About Youth • HBO Series Overview
The soundtrack of Youth mirrors the chaotic emotional rhythm of Alex's daily life, leaning into an eclectic mix of sharp post-punk, vintage alternative rock, and classic electroclash. The musical selections shift effortlessly from the punk fury of Amyl and the Sniffers to the seductive electroclash of Goldfrapp and LCD Soundsystem, paired with raw emotional cuts from Fiona Apple and Radiohead.
The series features an original score composed by veteran comedy-drama maestro Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, The Kominsky Method, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates), whose instrumental cues weave seamlessly between biting humor and heartfelt midlife vulnerability.
Roger Smith has covered film scores, television soundtracks, and music supervisors for over a decade. His comprehensive guides cross-reference cue sheets, production notes, and artist catalogs to deliver the most accurate scene-by-scene musical chronicles for major theatrical and streaming releases.
