Three Women is an American drama television series created by author Lisa Taddeo, based on her best-selling 2019 non-fiction book of the same name. Premiering on Starz and Stan, the ten-episode series stars Shailene Woodley as Gia, alongside DeWanda Wise as Sloane, Betty Gilpin as Lina, and Gabrielle Creevy as Maggie.
The story follows Gia, a writer mourning the tragic loss of her family, who convinces three distinct "ordinary" women across America to candidly tell their stories of passion, vulnerability, and resilience. As Sloane confronts open marriage taboos in the Northeast, Lina seeks rekindled intimacy in Indiana, and Maggie weathers severe town scrutiny in North Dakota, each narrative challenges societal boundaries and reshapes Gia's outlook on womanhood.
The series score is composed by acclaimed musician Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Emma., The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse), with expert music supervision by veteran Liza Richardson, curated with an emotive blend of alternative rock, soulful classics, and indie anthems.
