NBC’s new procedural crime drama, The Hunting Party, has viewers hooked with its high-stakes investigations and intriguing characters. The show centers on a team of profilers and law enforcement officers as they track down notorious killers who have escaped from a top-secret prison. Created by JJ Bailey, The Hunting Party premiered on January 19, 2025, and airs Mondays at 10/9c on NBC, with episodes available the next day on Peacock.

The Hunting Party follows a specialized team of FBI and CIA agents, along with other investigators, tasked with hunting down some of the world’s most dangerous serial killers, many of whom were previously presumed dead. These criminals escaped after an explosion at a clandestine prison known as “The Pit”. The team must use all their skills to recapture these escaped murderers.

The series features Melissa Roxburgh as Rebecca “Bex” Henderson, a former FBI profiler. Roxburgh, known for her role in Manifest, leads the team. Roxburgh’s character is tenacious, stubborn, and strong-willed. The actress also connects to the role thanks to college studies in criminology.

The cast also includes:

  • Nick Wechsler as Oliver Odell, Bex’s former partner
  • Patrick Sabongui as CIA agent Jacob Hassani
  • Josh McKenzie as Shane Florence, a former soldier and prison guard at The Pit
  • Sara Garcia as Jennifer Morales, an Army Intelligence officer

It’s a version of the song Hurt. I think it’s Trent Reznor’s versions, but I’m not sure.

NNIN was the original. Johnny Cash remade it. At the end of Hunting Party S1 E 10 it was Hurt by a different artist.

I just finished watching the episode and it doesn’t sound like the NIN version of Hurt or the Johnny Cash version and Shazam couldn’t identify it. So if anyone figures it out I’d love to know.

In episode 7 there’s a song about 26 minutes in that isn’t mentioned here. It’s an upbeat 1960’s sounding song and Shazam doesn’t find it. It’s when the Volkswagen bus is first seen. These are the lyrics (Googled but didn’t find) I could catch: See you every morning, baby
something deep inside me cries
Can’t sit still when you’re not with me

It’s driving me crazy that I can’t find it. Does anyone know what it is? I’d sure appreciate help solving the mystery.

From the ones I listened on Spotify, I believe it’s the version sung by Like A Storm. But I am not 100%.

I think it is by a group called Mad Hatter’s Daughter (the cover of Hurt).

No, that song’s from episode 10, I think. Thank you for the suggestion, though.
