Netflix’s The Sandman returns for its highly anticipated second, and final, season, promising fans an epic conclusion to Neil Gaiman’s dark fantasy saga. Season 2 goes into the complex world of Dream, also known as Morpheus, exploring new realms, introducing iconic characters, and delivering a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack crafted by composer David Buckley. You can check it the songs played in every episode bellow.

Season 2 picks up just weeks after the events of the first season, with Dream restoring and rebuilding his kingdom, the Dreaming, after more than a century away. However, the past refuses to stay buried. The story draws heavily from the acclaimed “Season of Mists” and “Brief Lives” arcs from Gaiman’s comics.

Dream’s journey takes him to Hell, where he seeks to free Nada, a figure from his past, and faces off against Lucifer Morningstar in a duel that tests the very essence of hope. This season, Lucifer abdicates control of Hell, presenting Dream with the key to its gates. This act sets off a power struggle among gods, demons, and immortals, all vying for control, and forces Dream to confront the consequences of his past decisions.

The plot expands across multiple realms, including the underworld of Hades and Persephone, the mystical court of Faerie, ancient Greece, Elizabethan England, and even the French Revolution, introducing gods, monsters, and mortals, and pushing Dream toward impossible decisions that may cost him everything.

Most of the cast from Season 1 returns, led by Tom Sturridge as Dream/Morpheus and Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer Morningstar. This season also introduces new characters from the comics: Adrian Lester as Destiny, one of the Endless, Jack Gleeson as Puck, Ann Skelly as Nuala, Douglas Booth as Cluracan, Clive Russell, Amber Rose Revah.

The emotionally charged soundtrack of The Sandman Season 2 is once again composed by David Buckley. Buckley, known for his ability to create “sonic worlds” that evolve music that shifts seamlessly between the show’s many settings, from the ethereal Dreaming to the depths of Hell and beyond.
