Nan has become the Duchess of Tintagel, wielding unprecedented influence. Conchita, now Lady Brightlingsea, is a feminist icon for American expats, while Jinny finds herself at the center of a tabloid scandal involving her unborn child.
The stakes are higher as the women face adult challenges: romance, jealousy, births, deaths, and the fight to have their voices heard in a society that still wants to silence them.
