Ludwig is an intriguing six-part comedy-drama series that combines elements of mystery and humor. This show revolves around John ‘Ludwig’ Taylor, a reclusive puzzle designer who steps out of his comfort zone to impersonate his identical twin brother, Detective Chief Inspector James Taylor, after James mysteriously disappears. John, played by David Mitchell, leads a solitary life, shunning modern technology and preferring the company of puzzles over people. His world turns upside down when he learns of his brother’s disappearance. To uncover the truth, John takes on James’s identity, which proves to be a monumental challenge.
Not only must he navigate the complexities of police work within Cambridge’s Major Investigations Team, but he also has to manage the responsibilities of being a family man—something entirely foreign to him. This duality creates a rich ground for both comedic and dramatic moments as John grapples with the demands of his new role while leveraging his unique perspective as a puzzle creator.
The cast features Anna Maxwell Martin portrays Lucy Betts-Taylor, John’s sister-in-law and James’s wife.
