The second season of the Australian drama series Last King of the Cross premiered on Paramount+ on August 30, 2024. Picking up 18 months after the events of the first season, the new episodes promise even higher stakes and more dangerous enemies for nightclub mogul John Ibrahim (Lincoln Younes) as he navigates the seedy underbelly of Sydney’s criminal world. At the heart of season two is the fractured Ibrahim family. With older brother Sam (Claude Jabbour) in prison, he sets out to build the largest bikie chapter in Australian history, putting him on a collision course with John. Meanwhile, the youngest Ibrahim brothers, Fadi (Alex Kaan) and Michael (Dave Hoey), have grown up and are grappling with their own moral dilemmas – whether to follow in their brothers’ criminal footsteps or forge a different path.
After Kings Cross falls into decline, John sets his sights on the glittering prize of Oxford Street, Sydney’s new nightclub empire. But he faces fierce opposition from the reigning queen of Oxford Street, Ray Kinnock (Naveen Andrews), who will stop at nothing to keep John out or take him down. With the relentless scrutiny of newly promoted Senior Sergeant Liz Doyle (Tess Haubrich) and her taskforce, John must navigate a treacherous web of power struggles and betrayals to secure his hold on the city’s nightlife.
Reprising their roles from the first season are Matt Nable as Big Tony, Uli Latukefu as Tongan Sam, and Janet Anderson as Simone. They are joined by newcomers Naveen Andrews as Ray Kinnock and Luke Arnold and Matuse as Dean Taylor and Benny Vasquez, respectively. The ensemble cast delivers gripping performances that delve deeper into the complex relationships and moral ambiguities that define the Ibrahim family’s world.
