Karate Kid: Legends is the 2025 martial arts drama that unites the beloved worlds of the original Karate Kid films and the 2010 reboot, as well as the hit series Cobra Kai. Set several years after the events in Beijing, the story centers on Li Fong (Ben Wang), a reserved teenager and skilled Kung Fu student under the guidance of Mr. Han (Jackie Chan). When Li’s mother moves them from China to New York City, she insists he leave martial arts behind. Struggling to adapt to a new culture and school, Li befriends Mia, daughter of a pizzeria owner, and soon finds himself targeted by Connor Day, a local karate champion and Mia’s aggressive ex-boyfriend.
Li’s journey becomes one of self-discovery and courage as he’s drawn into the underground world of New York karate tournaments. With the help of Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), Li learns to merge Kung Fu and Karate, culminating in a dramatic rooftop showdown at the Five Boroughs Tournament. Along the way, the film explores themes of grief, friendship, and legacy, with touching nods to the franchise’s history—including a memorable cameo by Johnny Lawrence and a playful nod to “Miyagi-Dough” pizza.
