It follows Dom (Nick Kroll) and Cole (Andrew Rannells), a wealthy gay couple from Los Angeles, as they embark on a 10th-anniversary trip to rural Italy. The vacation, intended as a romantic getaway and a crucial step in their adoption journey, quickly spirals into chaos. After a call from Candace (Amanda Seyfried), the expectant mother of the child they hope to adopt, the couple sets out to meet Daniele, an old friend of Dom’s father. But Italian backroads, a faulty rental car, and a language barrier leave them stranded in the countryside during a torrential storm.
Their misadventures escalate when they encounter a grumpy, shotgun-wielding farmer, only to be unexpectedly helped rather than harmed. Eventually, they arrive at a remote restaurant run by the warm-hearted Zia Luciana (Nunzia Schiano), where a dinner meant to be a celebration turns increasingly bizarre. Vegetarian Cole is even forced to try pizza with horse sausage. As the night unfolds, the film takes a dark turn, blending horror elements with its comedic core, culminating in a dinner party massacre that’s as shocking as it is absurd.
