Alice Oseman, the series creator, has expressed excitement about addressing serious topics such as mental health, university ambitions, and the evolving dynamics of friendship and love.

The cast will see familiar faces returning, including Yasmin Finney, William Gao, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, and Tobie Donovan. New additions include Darragh Hand as Michael Holden, a character from Oseman’s earlier work, Solitaire. Additionally, Jonathan Bailey and Hayley Atwell join the cast in significant roles.
