Freakier Friday is the 2025 sequel to Disney’s cult classic Freaky Friday (2003), reuniting Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan as the iconic mother-daughter duo, Tess and Anna Coleman. This new chapter brings a multigenerational twist, fresh laughs, and a heartwarming look at family, making it one of the must-see movies of the summer.
Tracklist
Set 22 years after the original body-swap chaos, Freakier Friday finds Anna (Lindsay Lohan) now a mother herself, engaged to British restaurateur Eric Davies (Manny Jacinto), and preparing to blend her family with Eric’s, including his spirited teenage daughter, Lily. Anna’s own daughter, Harper, is also a teenager, setting the stage for a house full of clashing personalities and generational misunderstandings.
The story kicks off as Anna’s wedding approaches. During her bachelorette party, a run-in with a fortune teller triggers a new magical mishap: this time, it’s not just Tess and Anna swapping bodies, but a four-way switch involving Anna, Tess, Harper, and Lily. The result is a hilarious and heartfelt exploration of family dynamics, as the teens, now in their mothers’ bodies, plot to break up the wedding, while the adults must navigate high school drama and social media.
Returning cast members from the original film include Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. New faces Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan join the cast.

The Freakier Friday soundtrack is scored by Amie Doherty, known for her work on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Spirit Untamed. Doherty’s music brings a modern, energetic vibe that complements the film’s comedic and emotional beats, blending orchestral motifs with contemporary pop influences. Expect a score that enhances both the slapstick humor and the heartfelt moments, as well as potential nods to the original film’s iconic soundtrack.
