Musical Palette & The Newton Brothers' Score
Amazon Prime Video's reimagining of Stephen King's 1974 horror classic Carrie, adapted and helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, The Fall of the House of Usher), reunites him with frequent musical partners The Newton Brothers (John Andrew Grush and Taylor Newton Stewart).
Renowned for their uncanny ability to blend classical dread with melancholic emotional weight, The Newton Brothers craft an immersive acoustic and synthesized soundscape that mirrors Carrie White's (Summer H. Howell) internal torment, her mother Margaret's (Samantha Sloyan) religious fanaticism, and the devastating escalation of her telekinetic awakenings.
Music Supervision by Justine von Winterfeldt (Format Entertainment)
Leading the commercial music supervision for the series is Emmy Award-winner Justine von Winterfeldt, Head of Music Supervision at Format Entertainment. A trusted long-time creative collaborator of Mike Flanagan—having supervised the soundtrack curation for The Fall of the House of Usher, Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and The Midnight Club, alongside Marvel's Agatha All Along and Hawkeye—von Winterfeldt brings a masterful ear for emotionally resonant storytelling.
For Carrie, von Winterfeldt curates a dynamic sonic spectrum reflecting the harsh modern realities of high school bullying, viral social media cruelty, and teenage isolation. Her track selections juxtapose contemporary alternative pop and moody indie-rock anthems against timeless nostalgic ballads and soaring prom-night anthems, creating a profound contrast with The Newton Brothers' atmospheric instrumental horror score.
