‘Bugonia’ Soundtrack 2025: Every Song Played in the Movie

Visionary filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos is back with another provocative and surreal cinematic experience. Bugonia, his latest sci-fi comedy, promises to deliver the same visual flair that made movie like “Poor Things” and “The Favourite” unforgettable. Set for release on October 24, 2025, this movie reunites Lanthimos with his frequent collaborators Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons for what appears to be his most paranoid thriller yet.

The story centers around Teddy, a deeply paranoid young man who has an unusual hobby: beekeeping. But Teddy isn’t your average beekeeper. He believes that aliens from Andromeda have set about destroying the natural world around him, and he’s convinced he’s discovered the truth about humanity’s greatest threat.

Two conspiracy-obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth. Teddy, alongside his dutiful cousin Don, takes drastic action by kidnapping Michelle, a powerful pharmaceutical executive whom they believe is at the center of an extraterrestrial plot to destroy our planet.

What follows is described as “a complex battle of wits” that unfolds during their interrogation, revealing deeper layers to the story that promise to challenge audiences’ perceptions of reality, paranoia, and corporate power.

Cast: Emma Stone as Michelle, the pharmaceutical executive who becomes the target of the conspiracy theorists’ kidnapping plot, Jesse Plemons as Teddy, one of the conspiracy-obsessed protagonists. Additional cast members include Alicia Silverstone, Stavros Halkias and Aidan Delbis.

Bugonia’s musical score was composed by Jerskin Fendrix. His score for “Poor Things” (2023) earned an Oscar nomination, followed by work on “Kinds of Kindness” (2024) and “Bugonia” (2025). Fendrix, whose real name is Joscelin Dent-Pooley, has become Lanthimos’s go-to composer for good reason. His 2020 debut “Winterreise” placed him among a rising group of artists in the South London scene, and captured the imagination of director Yorgos Lanthimos, who tapped Jerskin to score “Poor Things”.

For “Bugonia,” Fendrix has created what he describes as some of his most ambitious work yet. With the new movie score, we got a 90-piece orchestra in to do the whole thing. The whole movie is insane, Fendrix revealed in a recent interview, hinting at the epic scope of both the film and its musical accompaniment.

The movie has recently completed production, with the status changing to “Completed” as of late June 2025, indicating that post-production work is likely in its final stages. This timing suggests audiences can expect a polished, fully-realized vision when the movie hits theaters this fall.
