“Where’s Wanda?” is an dark comedy series set to premiere on Apple TV+ on October 2, 2024. The show revolves around Dedo and Carlotta Klatt, a couple desperately trying to find their missing 17-year-old daughter, Wanda. Portrayed by Axel Stein and Heike Makatsch, the parents take matters into their own hands when the police fail to make progress in the investigation.
With the help of their tech-savvy son Ole, played by Leo Simon, they employ surveillance devices and disguise themselves as electrical company employees to bug their neighborhood. This leads them to uncover unsettling secrets about their neighbors, revealing that appearances can be deceiving.
The creative team behind “Where’s Wanda?” includes British writer Oliver Lansley, who serves as the creator, writer, and executive producer. He is joined by executive producers Nataly Kudiabor and Sebastian Werninger. The series is co-created based on a story by Zoltan Spirandelli. Directors Christian Ditter and Tobi Baumann bring their expertise to the project, with Ditter also taking on an executive producer role.
Alongside Stein and Makatsch, Lea Drinda plays the missing daughter Wanda, while Nikeata Thompson and Palina Rojinski are among other notable actors in supporting roles. The ensemble’s performances are expected to add depth to the story’s exploration of family dynamics under stress.
