SyFy’s new supernatural horror series Revival has quickly become one of 2025’s most buzzed-about shows, drawing viewers into its eerie, emotional, and utterly original world. Adapted from the acclaimed Image Comics series by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton, Revival stands out for its intimate plot, talent cast, and a soundtrack that sets the perfect tone. Check it the songs played in every episode bellow.

Set in the quiet, rural town of Wausau, Wisconsin, Revival begins with a phenomenon known as “Revival Day,” when 47 recently deceased townspeople suddenly come back to life. But these aren’t your typical zombies, they return with their personalities, memories, and appearances intact. The town’s residents, both living and revived, are forced to confront old secrets, unfinished business, and the terrifying unknown as they try to make sense of the miracle, and the chaos, it brings.

At the center of the story is Dana Cypress, a determined police officer and single mother, whose life is upended when her own family becomes entangled in the mystery. As Dana investigates a murder where the victim is now among the revived, she’s drawn into a complex web of family drama, small-town politics, and supernatural intrigue.

Revival cast: Melanie Scrofano as Dana Cypress: A single mom and cop, Romy Weltman as Martha “Em” Cypress: Dana’s younger sister, David James Elliott as Wayne Cypress: The town’s sheriff and Dana’s father, Andy McQueen as Ibrahim Ramin: A CDC scientist investigating the phenomenon. The supporting cast includes Steven Ogg as the fanatical Blaine Abel, CM Punk as Anthony Check, Gia Sandhu as Nithiya Weimar, and Katharine King So as local journalist May Tao.

Adding to the rich experience of Revival is the original score crafted by composers Lydia Ainsworth and Alex Cuervo. Ainsworth’s background in classical and electronic elements, combined with Cuervo’s versatile compositional style, creates a hauntingly beautiful musical backdrop that enhances the suspense and emotional complexity of the series, making the supernatural events of Wausau feel all the more immersive.

What sets Revival apart from other supernatural series is its focus on emotion and character. Executive producers Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce have crafted a show that’s as much about family and community as it is about the undead. The murder mystery at the heart of the story, the complex relationships, and the quirky, Coen Brothers-esque characters give Revival a flavor all its own.

The series has already earned a “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising its performances, tone, and willingness to subvert genre expectations. Fans of Wynonna Earp, Resident Alien, and Chucky will find plenty to love, but Revival carves out its own niche by refusing to take itself too seriously and by focusing on the humanity at the heart of its horror.
