Marvel’s Thunderbolts* hits theaters May 2nd, 2025, bringing together some of the MCU’s most intriguing characters with an unforgettable musical backdrop. The film’s soundtrack combines classic hits with original compositions that highlight the action and emotional moments throughout this anti-hero team-up.
The film pits the team against The Void, described as the darker alter ego of Sentry (aka Bob). With “the Avengers not coming”, as Valentina warns, this group becomes America’s unexpected line of defense.

In Thunderbolts, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) assembles a team of former villains and morally gray heroes. When they find themselves trapped in a death trap, this unlikely group must work together on a dangerous mission.
The “Thunderbolts” team brings together characters from across the MCU:
- Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova
- Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes
- David Harbour as Red Guardian
- Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost
- Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster
- Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent
- Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine
- Lewis Pullman as Sentry/Bob
Additional cast includes Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, and Wendell Pierce in currently undisclosed roles.
Where to Watch?: “Thunderbolts” releases exclusively in theaters on May 2nd, 2025. Following Disney’s typical release pattern for Marvel films, it should arrive on Disney+ approximately three months later, likely in August 2025.
Directed by Jake Schreier and produced by Kevin Feige, “Thunderbolts” represents another exciting chapter in Marvel’s cinematic journey. The film‘s Thunderbolts Music package combines memorable songs with an original score to enhance this tale of redemption and unlikely teamwork.

After much speculation in the Marvel community, Son Lux has been confirmed as the composer for the “Thunderbolts” score. The experimental music group, known for their work on “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” brings their unique sound to the MCU. Their involvement signals Marvel‘s commitment to fresh musical approaches for this unconventional team.
Earlier discussions had suggested Lorne Balfe (who created themes for Yelena and Taskmaster in “Black Widow”) might lead the musical direction. His expertise with character themes would have been a natural fit given the film features several returning characters with established musical identities.
Will you be heading to theaters to experience the “Thunderbolts” soundtrack in all its glory this May?
